CatPawCino Cat Café, located on Newcastle’s picturesque Quayside overlooking the River Tyne, offers a unique and relaxing environment where visitors can enjoy the company of resident cats while savoring a variety of food and beverages. The café features a garden-themed interior designed to create an outdoor ambiance indoors, providing a light and airy space for both patrons and felines. All resident cats are personally reared from kittens, ensuring they are well-acquainted and comfortable together. The café is home to eight permanent cats, including breeds such as Ragdoll, Scottish Fold, and Exotic Shorthair, each with distinct personalities and backgrounds. Additionally, the café collaborates with Friendz Feline to foster and rehome rescue cats, contributing to the community by helping find loving homes for these animals. Visitors can interact with the cats in a dedicated lounge area, furnished with cat-friendly elements to encourage play and relaxation. The café offers a selection of sandwiches, soups, cakes, and desserts, along with a range of hot and cold drinks sourced from local suppliers. A distinctive feature is the availability of specialty Chinese teas, including Jasmine Tea, Oolong Tea, Chrysanthemum Tea, and Bowl Tea, the latter being a traditional beverage from the owner’s hometown in Northwest China. To ensure the well-being of the cats, the café maintains strict hygiene standards, with food prepared in a separate, cat-free kitchen and regular cleaning routines. An entrance fee of £5 per person covers up to an hour in the cat lounge, with additional time available at the same rate. The café is open Tuesday to Friday from 11 am to 7 pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 7 pm, and is closed on Mondays.
